Yet another WWE game is released and this time for the xbox, this game has been delayed various times but is finally here!, based around the american hit show WWE Raw, including the all mighty Rock!, has the game been updated of its old side within the big delay?....
WWE Raw offers alot, but is pretty much out-of-date, which is a shame really as this game looks great. By out-of-date I mean the wrestlers are old and most of them need updating, also in the game the logo displayed is the 'WWF' one, not the new 'WWE' logo. World Wrestling Entertainment was called 'World Wrestling Federation' until they had to hand over the 'WWF' name to the World Wildlife Fund. Now, seeing as WWE Raw was delayed quite a while, maybe within this time THQ could of updated the game a little? Anyway, WWE Raw shows off the wrestlers it has on the game in the best way possible, they look absolutely great! Infact, the whole game looks magnifficient, from the entrances to the moves, WWE Raw looks wonderful! The wrestlers muscle, face and attire looks great, for example Chris Jericho, with his long blonde hair, lightning attire and the face looks exactly like on TV! The only problem is, like I have mentioned already, most of the wrestlers are out-of-date, other than that the wrestlers for the time the game was not out-of-date look the same as they would on TV. The game is low on game modes, and lacks of not having a career mode, just a boring title match mode, in which you play a certain amount of wrestlers individually for the title you choose to try and gain. The game also doesn't include the classic ladder match and table match mode, but you can still use ladders and tables in hardcore matches, in which the hardcore matches contain ALOT of weapons, from bandana's to steal chairs. The good thing about the tables is, once it is broken from a wrestler being slammed into it, it stays in the ring and doesn't suddenly disappear like other wrestling games. The best thing about WWE Raw is the entrances, they are really stunning! with explosions and lights from the flood lights and the crowds cameras. This looks so realistic that it feels as if your actually there! You can create your own personal entrance in the create-a-wrestler mode on WWE Raw, this create-a-wrestler is, with no doubt the best I have ever seen and used, it has everything, from the attire to the moves. You can create your dream wrestler to the fullest and the best bit of WWE Raw's create-a-wrestler is the entrances, you can edit everything, from the music to the pyro. There are plenty of moves to choose from including the all powerful showstoper performed by 'The Big Show'. There are not as many outfits to choose from on WWE Raw as other wrestling games, but for what it already offers, you can't complain. I give the create-a-wrestler full marks as it is simply great. The graphics within this game are of high quality and are very good, this area of the game has impressed me completely, and with no doubt beats any other wrestling games graphics. The crowd wave there banners and show who they support and the WWE Raw entrance shows off the repeating Raw video's. It is truely a great xbox experience, by just turning up the volume a tad bit more, you feel the power of the game. One thing I don't like about this game is the dodgy music played in the background while playing matches etc, it ix very annoying and makes you wanna give up in a match when you are losing. Altogether, WWE Raw is absolutely stunning Graphic wise, but needs alot of improvement to make it not out-of-date. Although, for the time this game would of been in date, this game is great!
