TrishNow . you've had time to explore the site, I'm sure you want to know a bit more about us and what we do here. Well, my name is Trish Plumbe and I'm 37,divorced and a mother of one and I've lived in Lichfield all my life. I'm married to Simon, who is my technical support in my adventure to become an animal rescuer. He's also my rock and without him putting up with my mood swings during the last few days while I awaited the decision as to whether my housing association would let me do this or not I don't think I would be doing this today.

Why did I set up this rescue? Well I haven't heard of a small animal rescue in the Lichfield area, just in the surrounding areas. Yes, there are are rescue centres for cats and dogs in Lichfield but what about the rabbits, guinea pigs, budgies, mice, rats, gerbils, and hamsters? There are people who have these who need to rehome them almost daily and I believe I have what it takes to take in an animal and get it ready for a new, permanent loving home.

I've fostered animals before, looking after kittens and cats of all ages, and even taken in a dog and I also got my own dog from doing this, but sadly he passed away in December 2007. I now have two adopted rabbits, both male, called Alfie (white) and Ziggy (brown) (see pics). They lived with a lady who also had hens and for no reason that she knew of the hens used to attack Alfie :-( and because they were brothers and are very close she didn't want to part them, so she made the sad decision to re-home them. I stay in touch via email with her and send pics of how the bunnies are getting on.

I also have two other rabbits - Harriott (larger bunny) and Patch (brown bunny). We got Harriott from a pet shop - she was a birthday present from Simon for me - and Patch is one of the babies from another rabbit we had called Ginger. Sadly we had to re-home Ginger and her partner Snowball, but I stay intouch with the lady who had them and every now and again she emails me pics and updates me on how they are doing.

I don't work at the moment due to health problems - I have now for many years suffered with agoraphobia (fear of going out into open spaces) and also claustrophobia (fear of crowds and enclosed spaces) - I have improved tremendously over the last two years and as I improve, will eventually look for paid work even if only part time as this is my dream. So I do have the time and energy at the moment to get my rescue off the ground and spend doing what I do best and helping animals find more permanent homes.

If I haven't mentioned something you would like to know then please feel free to email me and I will do my best to answer any question you might have!
