Reviews Policy

One thing you will find while you visit this site as we expand it is that there will be a large number of reviews of videos, DVDs, computer and console games, sci-fi merchandise and much more. However, we are taking a slightly different approach to reviews compared with many web sites…

Unlike other sites, we are not going to try to bring you all the latest reviews in every area we cater for. We simply don't have the writing team at the moment and we would rather concentrate on bringing you a wide range of quality articles, fiction, artwork and much more that is less time critical.

Instead, our reviews will operate more along a review archive format, and we will be reviewing items new and old as long as they bear some relevance to the web site. In terms of SF merchandise, not everyone buys items as they are released, along with DVDs and computer software, and for some of our SF software reviews, we want the site to be a complete resource and reference guide as well as just reviews.

Another example here is with our Star Trek reviews section. Although many of them have been available for a long time, we are going to feature a reviews archive of Star Trek videos and DVDs. These will be broken down into seasons and if there are any videos/DVDs we haven't reviewed yet, we'd love to have your contributions to create a definitive Star Trek video review archive.

One thing we will add is that although we do receive a large number of products free for review purposes and have had this happen in the past as well, we will treat every item as if we have paid for it ourselves. We will never give a product a good review just because it has been sent to us - all of the review scores are awarded solely on merit, and we will not publish reviews if we feel that they are biased in any way.

As such, if you want to review anything, as long as it isn't already on the site, please feel free to send it to us by email and we're sure we can make space for it on the site… All we ask is that you remember that this is a family web site so please bear that in mind with the language you use in your reviews.
